Omer Mohammed (Founder/CEO)
A computer engineer with over 20 years of experience in technical training, IT consulting, and large-scale infrastructure deployments. Throughout his career, he has trained thousands of professionals across multiple sectors and earned an extensive list of industry-recognized certifications in training, networking, security, and data-center infrastructure from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Citrix, and VMware.
Omer is an active voice in promoting Bitcoin education and self-custody practices through his presence on X. He has appeared on several podcasts and Arabic-language initiatives, in addition to producing specialized educational content on his YouTube channel “Bitcoin in Minutes.” He has also provided direct guidance to many individuals seeking to design safe and resilient self-custody strategies for their private Bitcoin holdings.
He believes the greatest barrier to Bitcoin adoption is the psychological hurdle created by the perceived complexity of self-custody tools. When full ownership transfers to the user, key management becomes a critical responsibility—one that requires practical understanding and correct application to prevent asset loss or unauthorized access.
Motivated by this vision, Omer founded SelfCustody21 to offer practical, simplified solutions that combine his long IT experience with best-in-class Bitcoin self-custody practices. The goal: helping individuals and institutions build secure, independent, and trust-minimized custody systems—free from intermediaries.
